Interdimensional corporate liaison for Earth A-137
My work spans dimensions and reality.

The question I present you is: Am I (and you) one or two or three dimensional characters?
The user controlling us is defined by (light) matter, and therefore experiences time in the forward motion.
As a character in a game I do not experience time. I am therefore massless. Does that mean that I am one dimensional or two dimensional? What if I'm active and gaining skill points even while "offline"? Does that make me a three dimensional being?
There seems to be 3 primary spheres of thought on the matter.
1. We are either one or two dimensional characters and do not experience time. The counter is a number assigned and has no actual impact of time, as if the server shuts down, or the game ends, we do not get any skill points. Furthermore we are not sentient in any form and are mearly puppets on strings. Fate is unavoidable.
2. We are either one or two dimensional characters and only experience time while we are gaining skill points. Although experiencing time has no impact on what dimension we are. Therefore we are quasi-sentient.
3. If we are gaining skill points we are 3 dimensional, characters or not. As such we are quasi-sentient and can even have a cause and effect impact on the physical third dimension

Together, we can save Earth A-137, for if it is dextroyed, then so to are we.
