Tatia di Vey comes from a rather affluent family on Intaki Prime and is the rebirth of an honoured member of Intaki society. This afforded Tatia a good start in life where she was on a path to become an influential political leader within the Dove voting bloc.

Despite these advantages and in contrast to her usual stoic nature, Tatia occasionally suffers from a wild temper. During a heated debate with a member of the prominent Idama family, Tatia lost her temper, calling the Idama family a 'bunch of cheeky scrublords'.

Her temper had always caused problems and this outburst was the final nail in the coffin of Tatia's political career. Soon after she enrolled in the capsuleer program as a way to stay out of public life and avoid further damaging her family's political image.
