Clare was not like her elder sisters she had a temper and a natural drive to fight. Although her temper she was not sure how to harness the raw power of her anger. Taking note of their younger sister's anger Erza and Himari tried to give her some direction, Erza began teaching Clare how to perform mining operations in hopes of giving her some direction. This taught clare some experience in the industrial field but she did not feel it was for her. Himari tried to teach her leadership skills and how to be a good scholar but again Clare was not happy. It wasn't until their baby sister Teressa was born and their parents were killed in an attack by pirates that Clare found her calling and enlisted in the military academy. Clare was a natural when it came to combat piloting and quickly rose in ranks gaining recognition but reuniting with her sisters for Teressa's sake.
