Vaxoron Silverleaf. A strange name taken from an ancient legend, an awe inspiring tale told in my family to all the children down through the long millennia even to this day. It was, so I was told, the name of an ancestor of mine far back in a bygone day when all mankind was still tethered to our birth planet, Earth. According to the tale, he was a half elfin thief and magic user in a world of war and wizarding. Yes, laughable these days with all our science and knowledge, and yet an inspiring tale to a young child eager to grow up and seek adventure. Vaxoron grew up in that world and searched for his past, his family, and his future and eventually became a god...or so the story goes.

The children of my family have ever been inspired by the tale, each one finding something different in the story to carry them through their lives. Some were inspired, no doubt, by the magical abilities and the search my great ancestor lived through to learn new magics. They picked learning and science for their life's work, making significant advances in our understanding of our universe. Some inspired by his ability to lead went the way of politics or industry, forging great alliances with warring factions or driving their corporations to the very top of the business universe! And some of the more...interesting children of our line were inspired by the swashbuckling adventures in Vaxoron’s earlier days and have gone forward to turn pirating and larceny into a true art form!

As for me, I seem to be the one who comes along very rarely that is inspired by the whole story. I voyage across known space to learn what I need to advance my personal quest. I have traded and built, stoked the fires of industry by mining, fought with honor for my friends and faction, and, when times were tough, reverted to the less savory aspects of my ancestors early days. I have done all this in my own personal quest… to find and gather all my family together. I am also intrigued with the idea of magic. I search the outer regions for any sign of it...any world that has artifacts that can shed light on those ancient mysteries...maybe even my own chance at becoming a god!
