Following the handing over the adminstration of Jita to CONCORD in YC128, the Caldari State needed its people to rally around a new symbol of strength to help reassert its dominance following the loss of such an iconic system.

The iconic Corax was selected for a new and improved military variant that could lead the charge against the Gallente, a symbol that the Caldari could rally behind.
