Gaorun Intelligence and Security Detachment 9 is a specialised wing of the Gaorun Investment Bank's Security Department. The Detachment is focused on asset protection and asset retrieval as well as other kinetic tasks that the Bank requires around New Eden. Detachment 9 is unusual in that it is lead by capsuleers, and employs primarily capsuleers as its primary agents.
Some examples of tasks that the Detachment carries out are:
- Anti-Pirate Operations.
- Signals and Emissions Intelligence to support other Bank Intelligence and Security Department operations.
- Contract work for Gaorun Investment Bank and other Federation-aligned organisations and Government.
- Fraud Investigations that span across New Eden and Beyond.
The Detachment's leader is Yuko Aioi of the Jin-Mei Aioi family, which has a long history in FTL and other fluid-router applications. It is noted as per Federation disclosure guidelines that the Aioi family has direct financial dealings with the Gaorun Investment Bank which is a major investor into the Aioi Fluid Tech Corporation.
