Bio
Consisting mainly of skeleton crews and support staff, Stormsong Scrapyards is one of many independent private military/industrial contractors operating in New Eden. Typical openings for non-capsuleers are found aboard transports, exploration vessels, and planetary colonies. Though secrecy surrounding its staffing methods has occasionally fueled internal rumors of brutal Valklear-style selection and training, positions on warships are officially available to any who meet "proprietary screening requirements."
While the company owes much of its starting capital and current profits from salvage operations, the name started as an in-joke among maintenance technicians during an unrelated job for a Federation privateer outfit. Following a low-sec patrol aboard the Hurricane-class battlecruiser FCV Gungnir, two Gallente subcontractors were overheard on open comms remarking, during a pause in anomalous engine noise, about the low cost of replacement parts. Specifically, how the fine line between the ship they were working on and what what it had minutes ago reduced other capsuleer vessels to might be found directly beneath the forged signature on a safety inspection form.
Upon finishing their contract, the pair were personally congratulated by the captain. He presented them with - to the amusement of the majority Minmatar crew - a "traditional Sebiestor parting gift" of a single roll of silver duck tape as a bonus for completing repairs on time and below budget.
The Gungnir was destroyed in combat during May of YC 109, with no crew survivors. The exact cause of the engine noise was never discovered.
