Bio
The State Mining Executive is a relatively new board established by the Chief Executive Panel for the purpose of regulating mining in State space. Headed by a former CONCORD commander who was hired by the Panel due to his impatience with what he perceived to be overregulation within the DED, the Executive is a divisive entity within Caldari society.
The more pragmatic corporations within the State see the Executive as, if nothing else, a way for the agenda of the State to be advanced by a projection of force. This, they reason, will make their commodities more valuable in general, and give them a greater influence across the market regions of New Eden. Conversely, the more liberal corporate factions such as Ishukone see the Executive as nothing more than a fantastic way to ruin relations with other empires; blowing up ones' trade partners is nonconducive to further trade, after all. Patriots such as Lai Dai, of course, simply count the ships, pods, and ISK that the Federation's unlicensed miners are losing and rub their hands together slowly. CONCORD themselves are not on record as expressing an opinion regarding the Executive or those in its immediate employ. Members of the Executive's corporate family, however, have complained numerous times of harassment from hot-tempered CONCORD pilots whilst doing nothing more than inspecting a visitor's mining license paperwork.
The Group Mercantile Authority within the Executive is responsible for the day to day enforcement of State mining permit regulations, as devised by the CEP in consultation with various mining, mercantile and environmental corporations. The ultimate day to day task of the GMA is to enforce the delicate balance between industry and amenity with phased plasma, and it is a thankless task.
