While exploring deep in the outer rim of EvE, Bob was grabbed by the forces of a deadly blackhole, and was plunging to certain death. past the event horizon.
In a desperate effort to save himself, as he spiraled inward towards the center, Bob repeatedly stabbed his power core with a cheap minmatar pocket knife and screamed over and over "i am going to die!"
This alone did not save BlackHole Bob, but it did, however, make his hand bleed badly and dripped blood onto the power core... Thus giving his ship a mysterious power boost allowing him to escape certain death.
This is why he is called BlackHole Bob, as he is the only known person in the universe to escape a Blackhole Grav Burn,
