Adam Portes was born in a small station above a barren planet in the backwoods of space. His father was an accomplished local miner and his mother was a professor of physics and astrogeology at the Center for Advanced Studies.

At an early age, he exceeded in his schooling and took after his mother quite a bit. He also used to help his father on his mining ship in his off time.

Adam developed an affinity for both the fields of astrogeology and mining, and at early adulthood he started operating and managing his own mining company.

To this day he is the sole proprietor of "Adam's Resource Aquisitions Company".
