Originally a member of a small Gallente mining corporation, it was at a young age he was drafted into service to fight for the Gallente Army. His service to the Gallente quickly ended as he, and his wife were arrested and sentenced to execution when he refused to follow an order to execute Fifty-Seven Caldari POW's. Although Rowan was able to escape his fate when the planet he was supposed to die on came under planetary bombardment, his wife did not share such a lucky fate. This fueled Rowans hate for the corruption of the Gallente Empire leading him to serve as a privateer for the Caldari in hopes of seeking revenge against the Colonel who ordered the death of his wife.
