Mining in asteroid fields is time consuming. You just stare into the void as lazers keep drilling into a core of yet another dull looking rock.
Got blown up once, got blown up twise
Miners fate is not determened by the roll of a dice
Stubborn mind and sweaty hands
and loads of VODKAAAA!
First you try to be focused. Carefully choosing what to mine
Then you put music on and try to stay focused.
Then you go walk to the fridge to pick up something to eat while waiting your cargo to fill.
Then you struggle try to stay awake.
Jettison first cargo load to pick up later.
Lower EvE screen and watch some youtube vids.
Check back in, unload another jetcan and set new asteroids to mine.
Get back to vids.
Hear a 'kaboom' on the backround and 'eject' voice command
Get back to realize that you got blown up by dive ganker.
Buy new retriever, fit it and repeat.
