#1: Never go afk when you are not in dock.

#3: Don't fly what you can't afford to replace.

When you have made a habit of consistantly following these rules, you are ready to start, occassionally, ignoring them. When you can consistantly ignore these rules without consequence, you are no longer a beginner.
