My dad, he shoved his head so far down into a bottle he pretty much drowned in it. My mom? When she saw he wasn't there any more, she just dived right in after him. They didn't neither of them come up ever again. I guess that's just what love is for some folks. It don't matter what hell you go to, just so long as you go there together.
Or at least - that's what It was for them.
After that, I pretty much had a choice. I could go down that little bit that was all I had left to fall, right down into that same bottle, or into some dark alley that was just a knife waitin' for my back - or I could go up. Up - and just as high as high can ever go.
Guess I chose up.
No idea how high the ride's gonna be - and I don't give a damn. 'Cos I've seen down. Seen it - and the only thing I want to know about it is, I ain't goin' there ever again.
