Elchaeon was born to a wealthy Gallentean family who made their fortune in mining and resource processing. Elchaeon dutifully continued the family business until he was diagnosed with a life-threatening brain tumor. Before his death, his mother saw an opportunity to capitalize on the situation by financing Elchaeon's transferrence into a clone-body.

With a capsuleer as part of their operations portfolio, Elchaeon's family business contracted with Outer Ring Excavations to lend their expertise in complex, high-volume mining operations and provide their son time to train. Their success and prosperity was suddenly obliterated when their operation (into which they had poured all of their assets in a financial gamble) was destroyed in the Serpentis takeover of ORE.

After waking up in his medical clone in Clellinon, Elchaeon, a pacifist who would like nothing better than to help build a peaceful galaxy, reluctantly started his life as an independent capsuleer.
