When my son was thirteen, I suggested he try EvE Online, so he created this character and played for a short while. EvE wasn't his type of game, so I took over his account and transferred my main alt (Mirbek Ongrard) to this account. I wish I could have played EvE with him- I've never been a great (or even good) father: gone too much, never involved in his life as much as I should have been, never there for him when I should have been. It would have been nice if we could play one game we both have in common, together.

Still, I love him very much, and despite the gulf between us, I cherish this alt and will never give it up, as long as I live. He's a better son than I deserve.
