James Escalante

The Escalante family began as poor miners eeking out their lives fighting for crumbs in over-worked high-sec asteroid fields. Julius Escalante could barely afford to feed his large family. When things got worse, Marie (his wife) fell ill and died. The oldest son, John, was accepted into the Federation Navy Academy. He completed his training and acquitted himself well, but disappeared into the blackness of space; a suspected victim of piracy.

Now, James Escalante follows in his brother's footsteps, completing his training at the Federation Navy Academy. He strives to do his best, but constantly looks over his shoulder for the persons responsible for his brother's disappearance. Though he believes he will never know the truth, he still hopes to learn what became of John.
