THE UNIVERSE IN PERSPECTIVE

MWD speed (4,000 m/s) = 8,900 mph or 14,400 kph (~0.000000004 AU/s)
Light speed = 299,792,458 m/s / 670 Million mph (~0.000002 AU/s)
Warp speed (6 AU/s) = ~3,000 x faster than light speed
~224 million x faster than MWD speed

MWD 1 AU would take 1 year

1 AU (distance from the earth to sun) = 149,600,000 km / 92,901,600 mi
1 ly = 63,241 AU / 9.46 Trillion km
1 pc (3.26 ly) = 206,165 AU
1 kpc (3,262 ly) = 1,000 pc / 206 Million AU
1 Mpc (3.26 million ly) = 1,000,000 pc / 206 Billion AU
1 Gpc (3.26 billion ly) = 1,000,000 Mpc / I lost count

Distances to close objects in space = kilometres (km)
Distances within a sol system = Astronomical Units (AU), Gigametres (Gm)
Distances to nearby stars = parsecs (pc), lightyears (ly)
Measurement of a galaxy = Kiloparsecs (Kpc)
Distances to nearby galaxies = Megaparsecs (Mpc)
Measurement of the Universe = Gigaparsecs (Gpc)
