Born into the oppressive regime of Amarr's Slavers Syndicate, Badel was instructed in the traditions of old by his grandmother, Ishala - last remaining survivor of his family and highly respected Elder of the Brutors. Through her teachings he learned not to fear his captors but to overcome the shackles of slavery through the wisdom of his ancestors - wisdom for strength, inner for outer, fluidity is all.
After the passing of his grandmother, Badel began to realise it wasn't enough to free the mind of oppression, he needed to be truly free.
Many a sleepless night passed as he tried to figure out a way off the Amarr planet when an opportunity arose with the unprecedented visit from Amarrian royalty. While the slavers were preoccupied with impressing the royalty Badel made his move & stole the royal ship - Sarum Magnate - vowing to return one day and free those he had left behind.
As Badel left Amarrian space, he heard his grandmother's dying words, "live free, as water flows..."
