This rather dirty and undesirable character was born to unknown parents on Merculax IV, the planet of the lizard people. Abandoned by his mother, he was raised by the lizard men in their squalid slums, learning their ways and making a living by roosting upon clutches of reptilian eggs. The chief currency of the lizard people is bacon, and on starry nights the orphan would gaze up through mouthfulls of thick bacon and dream about worlds less covered in stinking faeces. A particularly virulent strain of leprosy infects almost 100% of the lizard people, and during his childhood the orphan contracted a particularly bad case, causing him to adopt the name 'Leper of Bacon', since the lizard people have no names and speak mostly in hisses and by breaking wind.

On the Leper's 16th birthday he happened upon a largely undamaged pod with the owner dead inside. Clambering in he made for open space, now seeking to spread his vile pestilence and find warm lamps to shelter under.
