Military service was of penultimate importance in Azrael's upbringing. His father often spoke at length about the duty of The Federation's citizens to serve. While agreeing to a term of service with the Federation Navy, Azrael's wanderlust often found him at odds with his superiors. His lack of discipline was often seen as insubordination, and his rank suffered as a result. He realized early on that the bonds of military life were far too limiting to be a career.

Upon completion of his contract with the Federation Navy he set his sights on something that would help him sate his wanderlust: Capsuleering. Armed with a ship of his own, Azrael set sail to the heavens. Without a destination he travels for the sake of the journey. A man seeking nothing more than his destiny... and immortality.
