All I needed to know about how to live, what to do, and how to be I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sandbox at school. These are the things I learned:
* Protect what is yours
* Fairness is for sissies
* Never start a fight, but always be the one to finish it
* A clean desk is a sign of OCD
* Clean up your own mess
* There is no #6
* Possession IS 9/10ths of the law
* Never apologize
* Dirt builds character
* Flush
* Work at something every day
* Fatigue kills - if you need sleep, sleep
* When you go out in the world everyone is out to get you
* Things are never so bad that they can't possibly get worse
* Curiosity WILL save your ass
* "No" is not an answer
Everything you need to know is in there somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation. Ecology and politics and sane living. Take any item, translate it into adult terms, and apply it to your life -- it holds true and clear and firm.
