Bio

Alot of people lived their whole life in terrible fear of their own demise, the inevitable death of us all. The sanctum of your telemeres as the blueprint for all genetic code, that your parents conceived for you, binds your health. And as you get older, the telemeres begin to shrink, with every recoding of the newest generation, with every traumatic recovery and rebuild of bone and tissue, you slowly die. Alot of people imagine it as painful and terrible, infact they believe, you know your own demise and it adds to the brutality of it all.

The truth is, death is swift, as such a knockout punch, when you have no idea what just happened. You see a flash, your body goes numb like a sleeping limb, and you are unaware of your surroundings or your identity. Your at the abysall depth of consciousness. You feel a distant pain in your chest, or a gunshot wound, or the oxygen deprived organs and brain go slowly numb to death from the heart failure. I know death well. Before my immortality was granted to me, against my will, regardless, I had seen my father died infront of me, before I was fully a man. I had learned the feeling of powerlessness, the submission of my once ego driven existance, and upon realizing I was nothing more than a drop in a sea of fleeting time, became a man. I had witnessed my daughter, not granted more than a month of life, die in my arms, as her telemeres were imperfect. Small mutations were treatable, but large genetic recombines and merges of code were undoable and void. I couldn't even clone her if I wanted to. It was against the conventions and terms of biologic reproductive certificates and would mean certain prison or death.

I knew death well, and embraced my inevitable demise, or should I say, my inevitable transformation. As no energy can be created, it surely cannot be destroyed. I watched people live in the masses, afraid to take the holy leap of faith into greatness, as they were held back by their fears and ill-gotten sense of security. There was no security. There was no god. It was you versus the universe, and yourtime was coming, would you win or die in that moment?

Now with every distant memory of me gasping for air, as it was sucked from lungs, charred organs and boiling blood, eyes rupturing from the pressure, I see her face as she lowered her eyes in a goodbye, blood running from her nose, skin blue as the sea, and I smile. Her premature departure comforts me through every death, every reawakening...
