The Void
Calling us to the Beyond
Mariners
adrift on cosmic winds

To explore
Grav sites
Wormholes
the nul-sec
the ancient, lost sleepers

To see
the bloom of a quasar
the beat of a pulsar
Assault Ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion

To hear
the cold, rupturing silence

The blank, icy fingers of the Void
pricking one's skin electric

Shuddering hull as missiles
arc toward attacking Guristas
lasers flash and are extinguished
shields collapse and holes burnt

We probe
we search
we scan
grains of starlight to sift

Cloaked miscreants
slither, then gank
another miner flares
and a cargo lost

Shields, armor gone
structure evaporating
warping has passed
to finally fade from Black to Black
