Gladiuss hopes to one day get back to the old Universe. The reason he whent through the black hole was a result of the Prawn invasion. Prawn like aliens from the planet Gliese581G invaded tortun his home planet. They were able to push the Prawns back but in the following chase they were caught in a solar vacum and they were sucked through a black hole. So there you have it.....blame it on the prawns of D-9.
