A descendent of Ni-Kunni slaves, Rashmika Sky was born into servitude. Being gifted in perception and intelligence, she was trained and utilized as a bodyguard to a senior Amarr ambassador. Over the course of several years, Rashmika traveled through each of the empires performing this duty. When the ambassador retired he had Rashmika granted freedom, in appreciation for her service and because he had gained an understanding of the injustice of slavery during his time abroad.
Hardly believing her good fortune, Rashmika decided to further explore the Universe, leaving Amarr space in the process, out of fear that her freedom could be taken as easily as it had been given. While she had traveled extensively on her job, Rashmika had always been employed in a security capacity, and so had little experience in controlling spaceships. As a result, she is spending much of her time studying everything related to travel in space.
Socially, Rashmika is far more open-minded than most Amarrians, partly as a result of her experiences traveling, and partly in rebellion against the rules of her former masters.
Though she had been freed, until the death of her original body Rashmika remained dependent upon a constant supply of Vitoc antidote as a result of her conditioning as an Amarr slave. While it was a potentially deadly need, it was generally no more than a hassle as she was careful to keep a constant supply. However, her clone does not suffer from this dependency so death freed her from the final remaining Amarr shackle.
However, although she has escaped from the threat of Vitoc, a new, more insidious danger has emerged, one that threatens all who come into contact with her. Rashmika's clone somehow had been infected by an alien organism known as The RASH.
The RASH asserted its presence within hours of her clone's activation by taking control of Rashmika's mind and body. Though the duration of this takeover was brief, it has since happened on multiple occasions. Some information about The RASH has been gained as a result of these incidents.
The RASH is a distributed intelligence on a cellular level, and it can spread from human to human, although the means to this are not yet known. Its goal apparently is to spread itself to as many hosts as possible. This would increase the number of nodes in its bio-network, granting it a greater ability to process inf
