Bio
Professor James Moriarty is renowned for his achievements in higher mathematics and non-Euclidian hyperphysics. His treatise on The Dynamics of an Asteroid is a standard academic reference. Unfortunately, the Professor is hounded by an insane stalker who believes himself to be an Edwardian consulting detective.
As CEO of Motion Blur, a private corporation, the Professor offers courier services for discerning clients who require high speed, maximum security and absolute discretion. His covert-cloaked transport ships streak between the stargates with serene impunity. Motion Blur's fleet is tolerated (barely) by CONCORD, EDENCOM and the Triglavians, providing access to any destination in known or wormhole space, including Thera and the elusive Drifter and Pochven systems.
The crown jewel of Motion Blur is The Blink,™ a CONCORD F-01 SWAT "Pacifier." This legendary spaceclipper is rigged to sustain a mind-bending warp velocity of 32.94 AU/sec. Combined with event boosters, 43.57 AU/sec has been achieved. No standard-issue ship in New Eden can fly faster under full control. (No, not even a Leopard.)
At 02:45 UTC YC122.12.02, Professor Moriarty defied the presumed limits of subwarp navigation by piloting The Blink™ into interstellar space, 20.7+ AU distant from the Class K4 star in the Mozzidit system. Alarmed CONCORD officials scrambled to learn how this supposedly impossible astronautic feat was acheived. To their chagrin, both the Professor and his hotrodded frigate had disappeared.
On YC122.12.07, the Professor broke silence, announcing his intention to reach the ultimate destination in known space: The EVE Gate, believed to be located hundreds of AU from the New Eden system. His claim that The Blink™ had traversed over 22 AU towards the Gate in just a few days was confirmed by EDENCOM using SoE combat probes. Several skeptical pilots have independently verified the intermittent presence of a faint signature far beyond the 14 AU limit of directional scanners.
In summer of YC123, an Occator DST registered to Motion Blur was observed undocking from the Farthest Shore station in New Eden. Aligned to the EVE Gate, it warped out of sensor range and vanished without a trace for nearly 18 months before reberthing, badly damaged, in the Angur system.
