Life was quiet on the Dessert Planet of Trampstampine, Working on his uncle's meringue plantation Max knew that he was destined for greater things.
As he often said "If there is a bright center of the universe, this place is farthest from it".
At last gazing at the stars he felt their call to adventure; He wanted to see strange new horizons, meet people from different planets. He wanted to live wild and free, out on the edge. He ran to tell his uncle; "I want to be a miner"
" You are a minor " said his uncle.
"No! Im buying an Ibis and Im going to mine asteroids" exclaimed Max
"Stay just one more season" begged his uncle " Ill need all the help I can bringing in the Pavlova harvest. But no, Max set off for Floss Icecream spaceport to seek his fortune.
"Ive got a bad feeling about this" Murmured his uncle Owen.
