They said it was coming, they implored us to make sure we were capable, we all ignored it.
Blissfully unaware, we played games, went about our life, socialising, drinking, making new friends.

The day came with a shock - hordes of troops, laser blazing ships from on high - we never stood a chance. Pandemonium erupted , thousands killed, cities buried between debris, some escaped to the hills and hid - not many.
Continued for days - hiding, running, shaking with fear.

They left as abruptly almost as if called.

I studied the landscape, smoking shelters, ruins everywhere, cities destroyed, my family - shrugs - I will look but I guess they didn't survive.I looked up in the pale moonlight, many stars out there ... I will find you my "friends" ...

The days after ... well survivors sought a safe place - hidden deep in the caves ... scavenging for food - shakes head - it was chaos ... organisation ? Someone stepped up ... What were we supposed to do? No one guessed ...
