The Sajuuk-khar story takes center stage in Homeworld. A man named Makaan has rallied a massive army of various warring factions that inhabit the eastern fringe to his side claiming to be the Sajuuk-khar ("The chosen one" to bring destruction or wealth) mentioned in the End Time prophecies. This army known as the Vaygr travels the stars with him raiding star systems as they go on a quest to find the three Hyperspace Cores. Makaan has one already but the other two have eluded him so far. The other two are in the possession of the Hiigarans and the Bentusi. In the end it is shown that the real Sajuuk-khar is not Makaan, but Karan S'jet (both leader and prophet to her people, a scientific genius, and eventually, the commander-in-chief of the Kushan Mothership Fleet. Her struggles earned her a nearly deity-like status, especially after she took up the mantle of Fleet Command for the second time.). S'jet is able to defeat Makaan.
