If the risk is too great, we do not engage, because although the greatness achieved is great, the risk is too great and the greatness too risky. If the risk is low, then we do not engage, because the risk is not risky enough, and the greatness achieved would not be great, for there is no risk. We engage only when the risk is slightly less great than too great, for the greatness achieved would be on par with the risk.
