Premier Romanov

The life of a miner can be a lonely one. Just you and the asteroids. Your fellow miners tend to ignore you, after all, you are after the same thing they are; ore. Wars have been fought over the stuff, ships destroyed, lives lost. Very few make their fortune. Those that do tend to keep mining, looking for that one last gold mine, the system where no one mines, where the asteroids are so big it takes weeks to mine a single asteroid field. I haven't found my gold mine yet, but when I do, I will have found a reason to retire. Part of me wishes for that day, another part hopes I never find my gold mine. Because the day I do, that's the day I say goodbye to the life of a miner. And it's a life I enjoy. Nothing but me, the stars and the silence broken only by the noise of my lasers.
