They say nothing hones the mind of a man like adversity, and war has been my greatest teacher. I captained the Tacitus during the Gallente-Caldari war, and as one of the battleships stationed in Essence we came through plenty of hard fighting and stared death in the face more times than I can comfortably count. But when they ask you to bomb civilians, Caldari civilians, you suddenly realise that your team has become just as desperate and inhuman as the propaganda says the other side is.

The day we received those orders, I resigned my commission and left Gallente space. They didn't take it too well. I keep the warrant for my arrest framed in my quarters, and have since been working for the very people I saved. The Caldari Navy even offered me some stripes and a ship, but after what I've seem them do, they're not much better than the outfit I left.

If war has taught me anything, it's to let a man be judged by his deeds and manner; never the flag he follows.
