The war was over. Instead of an undesired Hero's welcome, his role as Ender's mentor brought him chastation by the polititians. He would'nt be returning home, and he didn't want to. To a family he didn't know? To those who where his great-grandchildren? No, it wasn't what he wanted. The politicians wished him away, and he had no problem with going.

He looked out into the vastness, where before he'd glance into the enemy's eyes, now there was just....space. So he was going, but to where? He had no desires to be among the new colonies, that was certain. For what purpose was he, the great Hero of the 2nd Invasion, to have now?

He had focused on beating the formics for so long, it was hard to imagine anything else. Ender did it though, finished what he started, but not without remorse. He kept his own grief hidden, for he had never wanted to deceive the strong yet fragile boy, but it was his part to play to keep him focused. Now that success... left him empty...
