I was born the eldest son of a powerful house on a world of ordered hierarchy and quiet cruelty—engineered for rule, trained for command, and expected to become either a priest of the old faith or a perfect instrument of my father’s will. I rejected both.
When the path laid before me became a cage, I fled. The stars did not welcome me. I woke years later, penniless and nameless, on a backwater world. I begged in the streets. I fought in the pits for coin and survival. I took false names, taught the children of lesser lords, and learned the weight of a blade and the cost of every word spoken in a language not my own.
War found me anyway.
I rose among soldiers and outcasts, leading a company that became legend. I walked among the enemy, learned their tongue, and sought peace where others demanded only fire. I failed. I died. And something older than empires refused to let me remain dead.
They call me Halfmortal. The Black Devil. The Sun Eater.
I have watched stars die by my hand. I have ended a war that threatened to unmake humanity—and in doing so became both savior and monster. Billions of lives, human and otherwise, rest on the scales I tipped. Some toast my name in victory halls. Others whisper it as a curse. Both are correct.
I am no longer the boy who dreamed of libraries and distant horizons. I am the man who learned that some silences can only be broken by the death of a sun.
Now I fly the void of New Eden as I once walked the corridors of empire: watching, remembering, and waiting for the next inevitable choice. The past is a blade I still carry. The future, as always, demands blood.
