Bio
Free will - illusion.
Humans certainly have a will – but it isn’t free.
You cannot decide what desires you have. If by ‘free will’ you mean the freedom to do what you desire, then yes, humans have free will. But if by ‘free will’ you mean the freedom to choose what to desire, then no, humans do not have free will.
Almost all (hopefully) of your choices are made with the feeling of freedom but are shaped by various biological, social, and cultural forces – mostly by your friends, enemies, family, and entire social circle.
The illusion of free will stems from our subjective experience of making choices. We feel as though we are in control, consciously weighing options and deciding our paths. However, upon closer examination, these choices are often the result of subconscious processes influenced by genetics, past experiences, and the environment we inhabit.
Even our reasoning and logical decisions are shaped by factors beyond our awareness.
Can this really be called 'free will'?
