Bio
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vince_Coleman_(train_dispatcher)

Vincent Coleman was a Canadian railway dispatcher who worked at the Richmond Station in Halifax. On December 6, 1917, a French munitions ship collided with another vessel and caught fire, posing a serious threat to the city. Coleman and his colleague warned others of the impending explosion and sent a telegraph message to stop incoming trains. Tragically, Coleman was killed in the explosion, but his actions likely saved hundreds of lives. His bravery and sacrifice have been recognized and honored, and he is considered a hero of the Halifax Explosion.

His final message was “Hold up the train. Ammunition ship afire in harbor making for Pier 6 and will explode. Guess this will be my last message. Good-bye boys.”
