Inquisitor Aurelius

Background:
Inquisitor Aurelius is a seasoned member of the Ordo Hereticus, the arm of the Inquisition tasked with rooting out heresy, witchcraft, and the ever-present threat of Chaos within the Imperium of Man. Raised on the hive world of Necromunda, Aurelius grew up surrounded by violence, corruption, and the dark influence of the underhive gangs. His early exposure to this pervasive evil ignited within him a fierce hatred for heresy in all its forms, as well as a deep understanding of how easily the hearts of men can be corrupted.

Identified at a young age by an Inquisitor during a particularly devastating Chaos incursion, Aurelius was taken under the wing of the Inquisition and trained in the arts of investigation, psychological manipulation, and close-quarter combat. His formative years were spent learning to be as much a warrior as a scholar, equipped with both the knowledge to understand the subtleties of corruption and the ability to root it out through fire and steel.

Personality:
Aurelius is a stern and uncompromising figure, driven by an unshakable belief in the Emperor’s divine will. He is known for his ruthlessness, showing little mercy to those who fall under suspicion of heresy. His methods are often considered extreme, even by the standards of the Inquisition, and he is feared not only by his enemies but also by those he serves alongside. Aurelius does not believe in redemption for those who stray too far from the Emperor’s light; in his eyes, once tainted, a soul can never be truly cleansed.

Despite his harshness, Aurelius is a brilliant tactician and a skilled investigator, using both brute force and cunning interrogation methods to uncover hidden cults and renegades. His pursuit of heretics knows no limits, and he is known to sacrifice entire worlds if he deems it necessary to protect the Imperium from Chaos.

Appearance:
Inquisitor Aurelius is tall, with a gaunt, weathered face that reflects the weight of his duties. His piercing, cold blue eyes are his most striking feature, often unsettling those he interrogates before he even speaks a word. He wears a long, black greatcoat with the Inquisitorial “I” emblazoned on the shoulder, a symbol of the Emperor’s judgment. His armor is adorned with purity seals, and his weapons of choice include a masterfully crafted bolt pistol and a power sword, both of which have seen countless battles.
