Bio
These burgers were a very nice surprise. Long ago I tried some "tinned burgers" and found they were not bad at all, and so I thought I'd try these.

Lets not have any illusions - they are NOT burgers in any way that a reasonable person would define a burger. They are slices of meat that can be put into a sandwich or a bun, thats all.

If you want a REAL burger - then the only choice you have is to buy them from a local butcher. The ones that you can get from supermarkets are "Meh" at best...

Here is the bad point of these "burgers":

They look as if they have been cut by a mad robot with a chainsaw from a "robot wars" episode. If you look down on them from above they are circular or oval - thats fine. When you look at them from the side they are 1 centimeter thick on one side and slant down to 1 millimeter thick at the other side. You have a right angled triangle of a meat slice, not a burger.

This is actually ok - you just need to cook 2 of them at once and then turn one over on top of the other - then you get a normal thickness burger (with a slice of cheese in the middle - yum). This means that you will get 12 burgers out of a tin, rather than 24.

Even with this reality - they are still very good value for the GOLDEN bonus these burgers have:

They are already pre-cooked, you just need to heat them.

I know its lazy... But if you have been out hiking all day, or watching the stars through your telescope all night, and you just want a fast snack rather than spending time cooking food - these are the bee's knees.

From opening the fridge door - you can be eating a hot meat snack in only 4 minutes...

40 seconds at 800 watts one side - then the same after you turn them over. Then let them sit for 2 minutes to cool, during which you are preparing the bun/slice of bread.

Add butter/tomato sauce/mustard/onions... They even taste quite nice with nothing but cheese.

You would not give these to guests who came to your house - but you might give them to good friends who like you anyway :)

Put it this way - I have just ordered 3 more tins so that I have these fast snacks whenever I want them.

James.

(You can freeze them as well - just make sure you defrost them before cooking)
