Bio
Syrinx Athene was the name that was given to child known only as 14-F, by her savior. 14-F was one of twenty children who were part of a clandestine Amarr Navy project shrouded in mystery. these children were artificially gestated and subject to intense genome manipulation and artificial augmentation to enable a fully grown subject to operate a new generation of "living" ships.
Deep within the Amarr Navy is a covert R & D agency which had a breakthrough developing a new self replicating, programmable polymer-crystal-tungstan, which could be controlled by an advanced AI. This meant ships could be grown into shape, and "shapeshift" as required, this for e.g. could give a huge advantage into cross-sectional presentation enabling the ships to become needle thin to evade sensors, amoungst other advantages, like re-shaping for different tasks. Also negating the need for logistical support from stations or other vessels, to a point.. These symbiotic ships were being developed primarily to conquer J space.
The AI at the heart of the ships was so advanced it was in fact sentient, and was nurtured/grown into sentience alongside the artificial human child, so the young pilot and the ships sentience were bonded at birth, thus creating an incredibly strong connection between the two "minds". This connection and the augmentation to the pilot would enable the ship to be able to enact manouvers that would kill a normal capsuleer, the two minds operating as one with both conceousneses being able to feel the void around the skin of the ship, feel the hostile sensors wash across the hull, giving that almost instant reaction to any situation, when that "instant" means life or death, this is an unmeasurable advantage in any engagement.
However before the first pair of minds could be permenantly united, Jovian operatives implanted deep within the Amarr Navy caught wind of this project, not fully realising the extent of the project, had decided to sabotage what they could. The jovians not wanting to blow their cover cleverly played on the zealous nature of the Amarrian people, and seeded rumours to the Theology Council and the Ministry of Internal Affairs that deep within the Amarr navy was a faction "playing God" and creating unholy abomonations under their noses.
The witch hunt that ensued was swift and ruthless, destroying all traces of the project, all but one child saved by one of the inquisition no less, who had moment of pity, Juliet Athene.
