Heritage
Am\xe9lie Via Lacroix was born to a family of wealth and enterprise in the upper class of the Gallente Federation. A family of four with her mother, father and older sister V\xe9ronique. Her heritage heirs from an ethnic merge of the Gallente and the Jin-Mei. Both parents married over forty years ago, settling to establish their family and wealth within the Dodixie network of commerce and trade, and have prospered happily ever since with their two daughters who both came shortly after.
V\xe9ronique, Am\xe9lie's older sister, was the first to follow into the family business, manufacturing their own private pharmaceutical empire. She later discovered "methods" to exploit the trade, becoming an illegalised dealer in the Low-Sec constellations. After much contemplation, the parents decided to turn V\xe9ronique to the authorities, disregarding any claim she had to the family business and abandoning her to the piratic life she'd chosen.
Am\xe9lie did not wish to fall under the same temptations. Though she loved her sister, she came to accept that she was beyond redemption the day V\xe9ronique attempted to abduct her by force. Am\xe9lie, able to find a sharp object during this incident, caused the notable scar on V\xe9ronique's face that also blinded her left eye.
Hating her sister and more determined than ever to succeed her mother and father where V\xe9ronique had failed, Am\xe9lie knuckled down to focus on her studies. Scoring top marks in her schooling and eventually being offered a scholarship to study Science and Engineering at the University of Caille.
Current Life
Graduating with high honours, Am\xe9lie earned her pilot's license and now plays the double role of mining precious ores crucial to the family production while also aiding as Executive Assistant to her father's company, manufacturing licensed pharmaceuticals and medical technology.
