ACADEMIC DISMISSAL RECOMMENDATION

To the Directors:

As you well know, students of the Capsuleer Program at the University of Caille are held to the highest standards. At bare minimum, students are required to attend lectures and classes. After reviewing his poor record of attendance and absolute disdain of professorial authority, I have decided to recommend that the student Gyslaine Alvarde be dismissed from the program. I make this request with a heavy heart, as Mr. Alvarde has proven to be a capable student (when he attends classes) and has the potential to be a good, if not great, capsuleer.

I am aware that Mr. Alvarde's disrespect of authority figures is borne out of a childhood of poverty. The son of an absentee Gallente father and an uneducated Intaki mother in the Hueromont's Old City, Mr. Alvarde was witness to, victim of, and participant in gang-related crime from an early age (which, in my opinion, was instrumental in introducing him to the "philanthropic benefactor" that sponsored his admission into the program in the first place). However, I contend that the Capsuleer Program is blind to considerations of background and upbringing. All that should matter is aptitude.

Though I must repeat that his grades are still within the acceptable range for the program, Mr. Alvarde seems more concerned with parties and political activism than his studies. More than once I have been made aware by other students that he has skipped class in favor of some naive rally or another, or simply because he was too hungover to wake up that morning. When he does attend class, he makes a point to denounce the Federation and its government whenever they're mentioned. While I respect his right to hold such views, it is quite disruptive when they are so constantly and loudly voiced.

In conclusion, I hope that the Directors will agree that Mr. Alvarde has met the appropriate criteria for dismissal.
