Bio
Was it worth it? I thought so at first, the dream of money, power, fame!... yeah that was the great joke. Just sell your humanity for immortality! Oh you do! dont let anyone tell you different; ports grafted on to your spinal cord, neuro-empathic jumps stitched to your temporal brain and thats just the start,
I was not born in to one of the great families, you know these rich kids get bored and want to rebel, I just kinda ended up in the wrong place at the right time. Yeah well, I'd been using boosters most of my teens and twenties....... and I was in debt to some of the larger runners. They made me an offer, 2 cycles as a meat CPU, debt cleared a nice pay packet and a ticket to my choice of system! It was a no brainer...... yeah well thats what I thought... I just did not think that Serpentis was picking up my tab!
Now, I'm hooked up to A Brutix , a cog in the massive Serpentis machine. My thoughts aren't entirely my own anymore; they flow through the system, and the system flows through me. At first, it was exhilarating—like I was plugged into the pulse of the universe, able to access information and control systems with a mere thought. But the novelty wears off quickly when you realize you're just another expendable asset.
The pay packet? Yeah, it came through. Enough credits to clear my debts and then some. But the freedom I imagined? That's a different story. Serpentis has a way of making sure you’re never quite free. There are always more debts, more favors owed, more little strings tying you back to them.
The first time I tried to unplug, it felt like ripping my soul out of my body. The ports on my spine flared with searing pain, and my brain screamed in protest. Turns out, the tech they use bonds with your nervous system on a level that’s almost impossible to sever cleanly. They designed it that way, of course—once you’re in, you’re in for life.
And then there’s the matter of my “upgrades.” I didn't ask for half of them. Enhanced reflexes, boosted cognitive functions, integrated combat protocols—they sound great on paper. In reality, they come with side effects. Insomnia, hallucinations, a constant low-grade paranoia.. an itch you just cant reach.
This brings us to now - some agent in the SIsters Of Eve needs something, lets see where it goes.........
