Before the colapse of the Eve Gate, Dakken was a Lieutenant science officier aboard the Earth Science Ministry ship Zephyr. While in route to map a newly discovered nebula, the Zephyr has severly damaged during a meteroite strike. Having sustained heavy damage, the ship ejected all the crews' cryo pods.

Dakken's pod drifted into a nearby system and the onboard navigation put the pod in orbit of a gas giant. The pod remained adrift for nearly 2,500 years before it was discovered by a Caldari exploration fleet.

After being awoken, Dakken chose to become a capsuler and make his fortune in a new and strange universe.
