My best advice for starting out in EVE:
Never cheat, steal or break your word and you will never be lacking for allies.
If you're not enjoying something in eve (Like PI), stop doing it and just buy it.
Star Citizen vs Eve?
Star Citizen, you are Han Solo, pulling on a joystick and squeezing a trigger, viseral and instant gratification. An adventure, sure, but not what I'm interested in. Micro-intensive.
Eve, you are Captain Picard, standing on the bridge with a lot of automation - your officers readying the weapons, plotting the course of the ship and firing the guns, etc. Slow burn, delayed gratification, stories that people tell for years and friends that will anchor a station in your name when you're gone. Macro-intensive. Big picture stuff.
If you're not enjoying Eve then it might not be for you and that's fine - but if you're into Eve and losing interest, consider flying with new people.
---
"We could never learn to be brave and patient if there were only joy in the world"
"It is impossible to feel grateful and depressed in the same moment."
"A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer."
"Anticipate the difficult by managing the easy."
"He that never changes his opinions, never corrects his mistakes, and will never be wiser on the morrow than he is today."
