Mikkael Urr

When the explosions start errupting, you won't be the same, either. Though silent in the black, the concussions hit his hull and the atmosphere moves. He can feel the sound as the shock wave moves through him. It's shifting each molecule in sequence as it ripples from one side to the other. The blood, the bone, the brain. Sound disappears, then comes roaring back a moment later with that terrible ringing. A split-second of lost time, on the other side of which... the explosion has literally changed him.

No wonder a body would fall off the face of the verse...

But now the hum of engines returns, a ship leaves dock, and a pilot — now different — strikes back into the thronging void once more.

But when the missles fly this time, it's your turn to be changed.
