Bio
The scratched out corridor lights pulsated with each charge cycle, the dull hum of the electric flow filling the otherwise cold silence of the housing quarter. Kaia sat cross-legged, gazing through the small compression-locked window that gave a full view of the world down beneath her for what seemed to be hours. She had already skipped the majority of her allotted resting time.
The remnant clock souvenir she had received months ago had long since stopped ticking, and she had neither the time nor the will to change it. Small trinkets lay scattered about the room, ranging from small globes to tattered incomplete books containing tidbits of history and culture.
Old world power-cells were hard to find these days. In fact, it was hard to find anything from the old world. She sprawled over the caved center of the mattress, allowing her petite hands to drape over the edges.
Kaia mumbled as she drifted off to sleep, clutching her blanket.
The alarums were heard two hours later.
