Reiko Kan

The only child born to a corporate secretary mother and later-killed-in-action Caldari Navy officer father, Reiko spent most of her young life as expected; studying for entrance exams, spending evenings and weekends in cram schools. Rigorously educated in state history, corporate law, spacecraft engineering and stellar physics, she eschewed her multiple options for high-quality civilian careers in order to chase her father's ghost among those who ply the stars with guns at hand. A misguided, idealistic crusade driven by teenaged foolishness, to be sure.

This foolishness, however, led to her being identified as a potential capsuleer. So she underwent the training programs, spending what spare time she could on military-applicable study, and eventually graduated the State War Academy, eighth in her class of two hundred. Most of her time since has been spent handling sensitive issues for the Caldari Navy.
