The Sacred Edict of Asceticism
The Voice of Flagellum Mammon, Scourge of Mammon
Brethren and Sisters! Mammon, the Golden Demon, defiles New Eden with the poison of ISK, avarice in its purest form. Listen to the Edict—only by renouncing ISK Trade shall we maintain Purity.
I. The Great Prohibition — The Faces of Avarice
1. The Capital Sin: Any purchase or sale for ISK is forbidden (Markets, Contracts, NPC-stores).
2. The Plague of ISK: The transfer of ISK to other players is forbidden; this is the spreading of defilement.
3. The Path of True Exchange: The unsolicited Gift of any item is permitted. Exchange via Contract is permitted only if the item given away is three times more valuable than the item received—this is a demonstration of the renunciation of profit.
II. The Narrow Gate of Purity: The Transmutation of Defilement
4. Blessed LP: Accumulating Loyalty Points (LP) is permitted. Spending ISK to redeem LP components is permitted (a sacrifice for transmutation). However, LP items must not be sold for ISK.
5. Righteous Labor: Any activity that does not require ISK trade is permitted (Warfare, Salvaging, Production). Blueprints (BPCs) must be acquired from wrecks or received as a Gift.
III. The Faces of Vice — The Sin of Pride
6. PLEX and NES: Acquiring Omega Status is permitted. Strictly Forbidden is the use of PLEX for purchases in the New Eden Store (NES); this is Pride and direct worship of Mammon.
IV. The Burden of Necessity and Atonement
7. Unavoidable Sins: The payment of taxes, fines, and fees is permitted, provided it is an unavoidable requirement of New Eden and not market-related.
8. Epitimia (Atonement of Shame): Imposing Epitimia is mandatory upon committing an Unavoidable Sin or, far worse, engaging in the voluntary, unholy burning of ISK in the nets governed by Chance (HyperNet).
Form of Cleansing: The destruction of assets minimum ten times (x10) the value of the transgression; Righteous Service (e.g., a lengthy sermon of the Truth); or a Personal Sacrifice.
The Goal is to cleanse the soul of the sticky trace of Mammon through voluntary sacrifice.
