Originally chartered as the "Governor and Company of Merchants of Caldari State Trading into the Kor-Azor", the company rose to account for significant percent of the Kor-Azor region's trade during the mid-YC90s and early YC100s, particularly in basic commodities including lifestock, tobacco, indigo nano-dye, oxygen, holoreels, tea, and opium.

The company's fortunes took a turn for the worse in the early YC100s, however, as the Empyrean Age War escalated and trade routes were disrupted. The company's share prices plummeted, and it was eventually forced to declare bankruptcy in YC109. It was nationalized by the State in YC110, at which point its name was changed to the "Caldari Trading Authority".

The CTA was tasked with overseeing the State's trade and commerce in Kor-Azor region during the war, as well as with developing and maintaining the Caldari economy there. Unfortunately, due to decline in Kor-Azor population and economical activity, Caldari State decided to cut loses and sold what left of CTA to a capsuller in YC124. It was reincorporated under the new name "Caldari Kor-Azor Trading Company" (CALKA).

The CALKA is primarly focused on trading and hauling operations across the Kor-Azor region and in adjustment regions. However, its expeditionary fleets could be found in other regions, including every empire's Trade Hubs and even Pochven, in search of profits and opportunities.
